It seems hard to believe it was 39 years ago the first Afghan Hound walked into our home and hearts.
Since then many beautiful Afghan Hounds have graced our lives (and couches, and chairs, and beds). We have been fortunate to have had some success in the Conformation and Obedience rings, on the Coursing field, and most recently in the Agility ring. Watch the 'News' section of this website and the individual dogs pages for more.
I have done my best to breed healthy, happy dogs that have the ability to excel in Conformation, Lure coursing, Obedience, Agility, and most importantly at being our best friends.
My Mother Ivy has supported me in so many ways and she is a very important part of Kaimar Afghan Hounds. My achievements in dogs wouldn't mean much to me without her. Ivy enjoys gardening and is forever working on the landscape of our home. My talents run more towards mowing than flowerbeds.
Though my photos seem to be a bit more out of focus these days I still enjoy taking pictures of my dogs and the landscape.
For the last 14 years the setting for Kaimar is 4.5 Acres in the shadow of Whitehorse Mountain and Higgins Ridge in Darrington, WA. We love the quiet and serenity of this beautiful place though at times we feel a little far away from things and miss our old home in Snohomish.
We live alongside the North Fork of the Stillaguamish River affectionately known as "The Stilly." The trailhead for the beautiful Twin Falls at Boulder River is less than a mile from our front door.
I hope you will enjoy your visit with us - please come back and visit often.
